Welcome to our Art EXPERIENCE!
Soul of the Shu is our brand new carriage house and art studio which we built with love and our own hands! We will be hosting a series of advanced art workshops facilitated by your Host, an award winning artist, Melissa Nasby. Melissa has been a full time artist for 15yrs. Melissa specializes in fibre art but uses a vast array of mediums in her creations. You will be encouraged to try all sorts of mediums and techniques and really dig deep into your creative potential. Your art experience will be a success no matter your current skill level. We are here to encourage and guide you on your own unique creative journey. All tools and most raw materials will be provided, which eliminates a lot of travel stress packing all of your supplies. Our workshop is located directly below your spacious and stylish accommodations, complete with all the furnishings to make you as comfortable as possible during your stay. .We hope you will be our guest and take part in these one of a kind art experiences.

Meet the Artists:
Barry Gordemer: Award-winning character designer and puppet maker. He brings unparalleled craftsmanship and charisma to every character he creates.
Melissa Nasby: Sculptor, fabricator and mess-maker extraordinaire who creates whimsical 3D masterpieces using all kinds of mixed media

Year of the Dragon - Unleash your creative fire!
Immerse yourself in the mythical world of dragons as Melissa and Barry guide you through the creation of your very own dragon-inspired cohesive creation.
What to Expect:
Cosplay/Fabrication: Melissa will teach you her magical techniques to bring your human character to life . (ie; mask, headdress, props etc)
Puppet Building: Barry will guide you through advanced foam rubber and fabric puppet construction.
32 Hours of Hands-On Learning: Enjoy a fun, high-energy, encouraging atmosphere that fuels your creativity.
Professional Guidance: Learn from two seasoned artists with diverse expertise.
